The current card gives a Cat 1-4 with the annual fee and another one with $15k spend. You'd think this one would at least match that. I'm thinking this post is a rough draft from what someone saw on a whiteboard in a conference room and took a quick photo with their iPhone. There are quite a few inconsistencies for me to believe this. Such as, if $15k spend generates 10 qualifying nights, this post says that only real nights and hotel spend counts towards milestones. Would the nights driven by CC spend not count towards milestones? If that's the case, then the current CC is better. It provides gives 5 nights and then 2 for every $5k spend, which do go towards milestones, so why switch? Currently $15k spend generates 6 nights towards milestones. I think I'd rather have those 6 that do, compared with 10 that don't. I do understand 10X earnings on Hyatt would be a huge improvement and the extra point on dining, etc would be nice.
I suppose time will tell. Especially with the CEO turnover, there might be a pause in announcing any strategic development, it might be a while. I'm willing to be convinced otherwise!
