I think new categories at the top end were expected as Hyatt’s topping out right now in some locations. Topping up awards is nice, limited super peak pricing I’m fine with, but I really dislike the new premium credit card if they’re devaluing Globalist status that much. If they did that, I’d prefer they go the Hilton route and introduce another higher tier so that people who actually stay a lot more nights/spend are differentiated.
