I'm not the OP, but Egyptian currency fluctuations led both Star Alliance and Oneworld to pull their RTW fares a couple of years ago. It's important to note that RTW prices vary hugely depending on the "country of origin," i.e. where trip begins and ends.

The OP's route would seem to fall within Star Alliance's 34,000 mile limit, the second highest tier for the Star products. As such, if the ticket was purchased today, the price from most European countries would be in the US$9500 - $10,000 range (plus taxes and fees.). By comparison, the same ticket with travel beginning and ending in Japan would carry a base price of around US$5,400. Of course you'd need to get to Japan to start the RTW, and home afterwards, but $5K is a lot of savings.
