I am new to the Alaska ATMOS ecosystem but have been on points and miles for a long time. I mostly look for long haul international premium cabins (F or J) to Asia and Europe. I have applied and been using the ATMOS Summit card for a while and accumulated a substantial amount of points. But when I start looking into booking, I realized a couple of "shortcomings":
- Award booking opened <350 days which is much longer than a lot of the airlines; e,g, JAL opens at 360 days before travel
- Miles required to book some of the flights are extremely high, e.g. I am really interested in trying the new Starlux J but the miles required is 175k one way from SFO->TPE
Since I have heard many good things about Alaska miles, I want to check with the expert here if I may be missing some sweet spots or maybe the Atmos ecosystem is not for me. Any thoughts?
