IMHO, this time it seems "final", in the sense that this loophole has been fixed. I've seen a lot of posts from users wanting to cancel the card because this stopped. I'm not really certain that will indeed happen. With the updated credits, the Platinum still more than breaks even (assuming that someone travels atleast a few times a year). Personally I would be happy if this causes a reduction in the number of "recreational travelers", specifically if can reduce the crowding even marginally (but i really doubt that will happen).
While this TB hack was a convenient way to leverage the credits, for most of the frequent travelers, there are other options so personally I don't see this as a dealbreaker for the Plat in anyway. It just now requires more hoops to jump through to utilize the credits.
