i wouldn't say that is good advice for the OP who is trying F for the first time. sure if you are a regular flyer heading from JFK to LHR, that is precisely what you would do. but as someone who is flying for the first time in F on a long flight from LAX, i fail to see why you wouldn't want to enjoy the experience by having a few drinks and a meal then settling down for a good sleep.
