Why would this be done ? Unless seats are damaged I can't see why after those seats had been selected.
Can’t say for sure but could’ve been a swap to one type and then a swap back to the original type. Also, when you say “same cabin layout” do you just mean same number of rows in CE? If there are, say, 8 rows of CE, this would appear on BA’s seat map to look exactly the same on any A320 family aircraft.
