Finnair made a minor schedule change (+40 min) on my AMS–HEL flights and offered free re-routing options. Original ticket was Economy Superlight, upgraded to Business with Avios.

Two unusual alternatives are:
  • AMS–DFW (AA Economy Y) + DFW–HEL (AY Business U)
  • AMS–DOH (QR Business J) + DOH–HEL (AY Business U)
Would the partner segments (AA Y / QR J) earn Avios + tier points per the distance-based partner chart, while the AY Business U segment still earns under Finnair’s revenue-based model even though this is a schedule-change rebooking?
