I don't know what the Airbus terminology is for 'C' and 'D' checks is, but I can't recall any of the A380s being out of action for long periods of time before EA went off to Manila towards the end of 2014 (unless you count the storage time during and after Covid-19?)

Edit: Scratch some of this, I found another thread with a wiki giving service details for each airframe! BA A380 maintenance (Singapore & Manila)
On the A380 there is also 6 year and 12 year heavy maintenance items on top of the C/D checks. The 12 being the largest of checks, which is what is happening to the longer stayers in MNL I believe on top of the D check.

As for BA, they can only do A and B checks in house at T5. Anything C or bigger requires somewhere else to do it. This is almost always in MNL. Cardiff is not equipped for any of the Airbus maintenance. It solely does 777/787 at the moment since the departure of the 747.
