I made two purchases on 1/6 and both were reimbursed on 1/8.

I'm really curious how much money UA was bringing in from TB purchases on Amex Platinum cards? And how for what duration this money would typically sit (interest-free for whoever gave the money to UA) until it finally gets used to buy a ticket and fly? Since UA doesn't have a co-branded card with Amex, it seems like they should have plenty of motivation to code TB purchases such that they trigger the automatic reimbursements, if the amount of money involved is high enough, and the only thing Amex could do about it is revoke UA's ability to accept Amex cards.
