We are somewhere between Washington Court House and Cincinnati, maybe still on the road (US-22) to Wilmington. But Wilmington is somewhat unprepossessing, as I remember. Perhaps I didn't survive the tornado, maybe the car got sucked up in the vortex and transported to the land of Oz. I have to post these photos to convince myself that I didn't get transported to Oz during the stormy part of that trip:



The speed at which the storm swept over the country was shocking


The rain, when it hit, was so strong that I had to stop the car


Finally the sky in the West began to look clear


I believe this was Wilmington, in the aftermath of the storm
