People go get the cards to tout about their "luxurious airport lounge experience". "When everyone is Elite, no one is". I mostly avoid any airport lounge in the US especially Skydumps or other brand wide lounges, outside of a VERY few (QF F lounge at LAX, EK lounge at JFK, D1 Lounge, etc), rather I find a quiet gate and/or get to the airport as close to departure as possible. .
Very good point. I'd rather sit at a decent airport bar / restaurant than at the mainstream lounges (SC, AC, United Club etc.) in the US. I classify them more as glorified waiting rooms than true lounges. Different story of course with D1, Polaris and Flagship lounge
