Bilt was founded 4-5 years ago as a no-cost way to “pointsetize” rent payments. Bilt has strayed far from that worthy goal and for many people is now circling the drain. Don't you mean if it's
less than 2-3%? i.e. you're not earning enough points to make it worth your time?
I've made exactly one purchase (for $2.99) on the new Cardless card just to make sure it works. Right now, I am consuming the $100 Bilt Cash I got as the SUB. If it's fairly simple to pay one or two utility bills with the card and then adjust my housing payment to be exactly 4x the cost of the utility bill(s), then I'll use the Bilt program to earn 4x on non bonus utility bill spend. Otherwise, I'll likely just toss it in the drawer and forget about it.
