Maybe I'm the only one who's experienced this but Bilt simultaneously was telling me that my bank account had been verified and that I couldn't make a rent payment because my account was not verified.

The instructions AI chat provided to fix the problem made no sense. Amazingly I was able to reach a human but unfortunately the steps they suggested, deleting the linked account and reconnecting it put Plaid into an infinite loop where Bilt kept asking to verify over and over.

If anyone runs into this issue I'd suggest linking a different account, since Bilt will not permit removing all of your accounts and Bilt seems to be getting confused between accounts linked before they required Plaid and those that were linked using it. By linking a different account you can then remove any accounts that were previously linked without Plaid because it's no longer the only linked account, and then relink it using Plaid.

It took me well over an hour to get this to work and I had to interrupt the infinite loop that kept asking to link even though I already had but when I did the relinked account was showing and I no longer got the error.

In summary, accounts in Bilt that were linked some time ago will show verified but that's not good enough. Now they need to be verified by Plaid but Bilt makes no distinction in the user interface between accounts that were previously verified without Plaid and those that were verified using Plaid. So in the wallet Bilt shows your accounts as being verified, but when you go to try and pay rent the system barfs because it wasn't verified by Plaid.
