Were the baked beans not cooked well or you just don't like that style? Being from Boston I grew on on Boston baked beans and still love them though I do appreciate British style beans when I'm there as well! And yes, unfortunately our lovely Puritan "blue" laws shining through there blocking us from having alcohol in the morning....
