Apologies for the year-old upload, I only just started to post on FT. While I haven't taken this particular flight this year, other flights have had the same J menu so hopefully it's still relevant.
Also, I was under the impression that the trolley service was largely for IST departures (the only other outstation one I saw is the recent ex-HAN upthread), so I was quite surprised to see this on an evening outstation flight last year. I've also taken the BOS-IST flight which leaves about an hour earlier and they do not have trolley service.
Perhaps they do this for specific markets based on customer profile? (Montreal has an amazing food scene and I would gander the market there values good food a bit more than other locales)
Service was very good, crew member was happy to oblige me when I said "A bit of everything you can spare please" for appetizer service. I omitted the photos that show a closer face image of the flight attendant serving my side but she was beaming the whole time.
Menu, I think it was different from the online menu but I had zero complaints with the composition. I think I have a photo of the wine list as well but I omitted it from this upload as it's a year out of date. However if anyone is particularly curious I am happy to dig it up.
Warm nuts, champagne, canapes (hot items were both hot and crisp, cold were served nice and chilled)
Trolley service from an evening outstation departure
Appetizers from trolley and soup. Highlights for me were the octopus and smoked trout. Spring roll was also very crisp. Soup was also good.
Salmon fillet. I found this underwhelming compared to the appetizers. It was on the dry side but I've certainly had worse both on in the air and on the ground. Still good enough to leave a clean plate. Sides were delicious.
Dessert trolley selections and tea (I asked for whatever they recommended and then also asked for some veggies and cheese to nibble on as well as a fruit cup). Brownie was decadent and went very nicely with the ice cream.
Fruit was very fresh, croissant was warm and almost comparable to a croissant in Montreal.
Decent omelette but nothing to rave about. I normally love mushrooms but these ones were just not for me. It was the only thing I didn't completely finish on this flight.
