For myself I very well might fork the cash. For a booking with several pax I would weigh very carefully if the others would enjoy it that much.
The Airlounge seat is a bit of a curiosity and worth the experience. Unfortunately a cash upgrade at the airport won't confer lounge access as the Non-Schengen business lounge is also quite nice compared to many others. If you will have time to enjoy the lounge then buying that separately may also be worth the money.
