It's free, it's serves a functional purpose but wasn't Dante very clear about :
  • Location: Eighth Circle, Seventh Pouch (Malebolge).
  • Contrapasso (IMHO not a nice place to spend eternity)
Atacama40 Your commute netted a bottle advantage up+2?
Fortunately the British have purpose made livers in their DNA construct.
I do remember in the good days the BA ol'767 overnighters at AMS & BA E190 overnighters at RTM befor the pennypinching....
"we're doing nothing with those bubbles as the Dutch don't do alcohol on the morning first flight back to the UK, so if you'd like to take one home......?"

Thanks to Alex Cruz & Willie Walsh all such future hopes have been destroyed as it's cheaper for BA not to overnight anymore in AMS & RTM.

kanapiszon IHG club lounge breakfasts can be usually divided in 3 arche types:
- the continental (cold) favorites - easy in upkeep and servicing for hotel management, if you want more breakfastoptions, you must head for the restaurant's more extensive offering
- the full American buffet with hot items - offers exactly the same as the main breakfast restaurant
- the extensive buffet with extra ŕ la carte menu ŕ volonté ŕ preparé - offers special specific items and/or more expensive fruits (blackberry/raspberry etc)
It really did Hades .... even given crew rotation, I became so familiar with some of the onboard staff that this really was a regular haul.

It got to the point that if you didn't get offered a bottle, I'd get to the short stay in a bit of a huff .... to get there with a single bottle made you feel OK. But for that real deep down warm smug feel, you needed to be given two bottles. I'd say this occurred roughly every third week in reality. And they were offered not nabbed in this instance. And for a long time. This was the golden phase of travel for me .... late 90's through to about 2010. Things BA wise became rather grey towards the end of that time.

Nabbing from the lounge needs doing with great care. Again if you regular enough (as you will know) then a polite over humble ask is often enough. In other locations, then it's a bit more of a 'Catch Me If You Can' thing. But I have to confess to not bothering any more. I've lost the drive to be "that guy" any more. ....
