Unless I am misunderstanding, OP is modifying a 2-night stay to a 3-night stay. THC requires a minimum of 2 nights, but there is no restriction that it be exactly 2 nights. "The Hotel Collection (THC) benefits are available for new bookings of two consecutive nights or more [...]"
Granted that does say "new bookings" but per earlier discussion it seems this is not strictly enforced.
