We’ve seen these sort of sky is falling* discussions many times before, most infamously regarding dollar coins years ago. Whether or not AmEx (and Chase and other issuers) closes the loophole and when they do so and if they preannounce it is anyone’s guess.
Only certainty is that SOME people, without any evidence, will blame those people who “publicized” methods for exploiting the loophole. And of course many will claim “I told you so” which of course is as believable as the boy who cried wolf** and the once or twice a day a broken clock is accurate***.
I wonder how many loopholes have been closed because they were disclosed on FlyerTalk. My guess is some but not many. We’re not normal, possibly not well, and there aren’t really that many of us.
