The program makes very little difference to my wife and me and a large difference to the rest of our family.
I have never been good with massive terms and conditions missives but some threads here have been very useful in helping us optimise MBs going forward and I have definitely changed my mind since my initial strategy when the program was initially announced.
I 100% agree with you and FT has always been the place to get all the best information on how to maximize earning and exploiting the system to the maximum.
I use FT to squeeze as much value out of the miniscule amount of AP points I now get. And 3 people I know are now E50/75/SE with very little change to their spend because of stuff I learned here.
What I’m sick of if listening to "Shower-sacks" like the dude on the Instaface link who think themselves super-important customers and are constantly ranting things like: “Ruining the brand by bean counters”. “Mickey Mousing thier clients….” “They are losing customers like me and it’s going to hurt them down the road.”
Guess what dude… Airlines don’t really want people who research for hours how to maximize all opportunities of the programme. Airlines want to monetize their J cabins, attract higher margin passengers and make money. And as long as there are people drinking the Airline’s Kool-Ade and buying seats, the airlines will keep optimizing the programme to their advantage. Don’t get mad at the airline for its rational behaviour; join me on the curmudgeon misanthrope bandwagon and understand that peoples’ irrational behavior is the problem…as it always is. Humans suck.
Basically…I’m just sick of all the whining. That’s all.
