Just as perfume is the invisible power of persuasion, music has a tendency to stick and summon associations.
Folks here on FT that were hotel prone before the 2000s might remember Mandarin Oriental's orginal signature tune and promo video on the inroom TV.
And yes i was weak and tried out all MO hotels out of curiosity.
The tune bringing back memories when H1jr + H2jr sprang on the MO SIN bed as being on a trampoline as in the video.
It didn't break.
I jumped on the bed also and it did break.
Embarresed to report it to main reception, i went to report it at the club lounge: " ahum, a delicate matter has happened, the bed might have broken..."
H1jr. & H2jr in choir : " it's dad's fault, he is divorced and now he is fat and too heavy!"
I wish the ground could have swallowed me up.....
Yes memories are made and the music that keeps on playing also keeps on reliving those memories....
Intercontinental Miami follows the same power of enticement with their inroom TV promo video.
And yes you may thank me, this is the
Intercontinental Miami tune to be found on youtube.
Club Intercontinental Lounge at Intercontinental Miami soundtrack
Excellent vibe à la Don Johnson's Miami.
And the lounge isn't that rowdy that i can still hear the music and shazam can pick it up.
Ofcourse, being the digital fossil that i am, H1jr has already put the tunes on my ipad & phone so i can recall our bonding stays at IC MIA in case i get senile or if he needs to persuade me to book additional stays

for future stays.
The funny memory of this stay associated with the music, H1jr thought he was his usual charming self but it seems i hadn't lost it and was instead the object of adoration. H1jr: "i blame it on the fact of poor eyesight! ". And i am still waiting for my welcome amenity as H1jr. forgot to take the do-not-disturb sign off again!
