Well I just had the delights of a ‘Ploughman’s Tea’ on a 16.25 flight from Rome.
No pre-meal drinks which was the norm on Band 3 and while the actual Ploughman’s catered from LHR isn’t bad, I don’t like the combination with a cream tea and overly sugary and sweet chocolate sweet. I also would have liked a non vegetarian quiche slice but I suppose BA needs to save the pennies and not serve a miniature Quiche Lorraine!
For a flight that’s over 2 hours long it’s a disgraceful downgrade. If I’d been served the proper Band 3 hot meal I now wouldn't be needing to get dinner tonight in London…
FCO is still Band 3 ,so with plougmans, it should be drinks with nuts, meal followed by bar with tea and coffee on the bar, clear in and offer drinks throughout of course afaik.
