Was flying AMS-LIN-FCO 2 days ago, had booked it before realizing the olympics were going on. I made the mistake of not checking in online, so when we showed up at the airport for our AMS-LIN flight I was told by the desk agent "we rebooked you on a nonstop, go to the Transavia counters to get your tickets", which meant we got rebooked on a KLM nonstop, I mean, great right? We show up to the Transavia counter and they tell us "We have no seats on any of our flights". So yeah, it took about 50 minutes, and about 6 agents and 1KLM staff to figure out what to do, before telling us they moved us to a nonstop AMS-FCO on Ita that departed at the same time as the AMS-LIN flight... of course we got given our tickets 45 minutes before departure so it was a nice run to the gate.

My question is, if we were able to get tickets on the AMS-FCO flight, why wouldn't ITA rebook us on that first instead of sending us on KLM... which had no open seats
