As a side note - I don't understand PHL as an international hub model at all. This article tries to explain the rationale but I'm not convinced.

Living in DC, I can 100% guarantee I would do the train if they designed a stop within the airport. Making the hop up by plane to connect transatlantic is time consuming especially in summer where they can’t keep planes on time in/out of DCA.
