Those green "blobs", we call them "pickles", are flight path guidance turbulence forecasts from WSI. The red rectagular-ish areas, off the cost of the Carolinas, are convective activity areas. On our iPads, click on any of them the the details come up with the altitudes and intensities.
Two of the products we use in the cockpit for avoiding turbulence and often the reason why the seatbelt sign might be on even though the ride is currently smooth.
