This has always been possible in the past, but I know that's questionable now and I'm wondering if there are any recent data points of people being allowed or denied.

If it's definitely no longer possible then I'll have to change my FFP# to BA gold, at least for the ex-HKG sector; but I really don't want to do this as I would prefer to accrue Asia Miles.
