Over 25 years ago I crossed the Rovuma River from Tanzania by ferry. Immigration and customs took place from the back of a car. I visited several vilages, towns, and camped often along the way to Ilha de Mocambique. The island included Stone Town like on Zanzibar that someday will be a magnet for travellers, if the insurgents and the government can find peace. Otherwise, a place currently to avoid. That whole coastal route is special.
