The former is empirical, the latter 2 observations lean opinionated. I'm happy AC made a decision and personally glad they picked a proven jet, but I'm happy to learn more about why it could be a bad thing.

"Boring and safe" choices are exactly what airlines like. Ditto for many pax, who just want to get somewhere with as little fuss as possible,
