Just wondering about how you selected Plymouth as the New Hampshire town to visit. I see that the Amtrak train from Boston
North Station to Portland calls at both Exeter and Durham, NH. (Durham is a college town.)
Edited to add: Also, if the plans for your upcoming trip are not fully finalized, you might be interested in the following options for visiting Alaska:

Hi
Yeah plans are all finalised but thanks for the additional suggestions - it's appreciated.
If I'm being honest, I can't remember specifically why I chose Plymouth tbh.
I think I looked at where the coach/bus companies went and took it from there. I would have seen the places in New Hampshire the coaches stop at and then went on Google street view and Google images etc to check the places out - the couple of other places the buses went to in New Hampshire on the way up such as Salem, North Londonderry, Concord etc there wasn't much there - more like bus terminals next to service stations just off motorways however I did notice that Portland has a train station and I would have rather got the train if possible. Sometimes I find the Amtrak site quite hard to use in the sense that it doesn't give me accurate information about what stations they have in each state and I keep hitting brick walls when trying to use them to state-hop.
