Ironically I would argue that if the hotel won't let them book a room by themselves then they aren't really adults by the hotel's definition. Denying glob breakfast coverage to 14 year olds by calling them adults is ridiculous, technically allowed or not.

Doesn't surprise me though, as I said before, with the strangely persnickety vibe at breakfast. Little less focus on weird uptight penny pinching and maybe a little more effort on some other service aspects. Most recent trip I stayed at a Tokyu stay, a Centric and the PH and I had zero issues until getting to the PH where I shockingly had a series of issues on the very first day. Wasn't the homecoming I expected after the renovation. Breakfast QUALITY however is top shelf, no question.
Your personal opinion about what is absurd and what isn’t does not mean that whatever rules the hotel (and the affiliated global program they participate in) should be ignored to accommodate your views. And at the end of the day, there are many other options, particularly in Tokyo, so if the Park Hyatt Tokyo does not meet your requirements, then you can by all means look at those alternatives.

Also, some may think that having 4 people in a room with two beds and 1 bath is absurd and would instead book two rooms. Or book a suite, a family room, or larger space that could accommodate 4 people.
