I'm here now. The food at 5-7 happy hour is pathetic. Drinks are wine, beer and soda water. However, and this is cool but they didn't tell me right away, was that we can get any drink 24/7 in the lobby coffee shop. They have good coffees, teas and mixed non alcoholic drinks.

You just go there and say you're a globalist and they don't charge you. They didn't tell me about this when I checked In until I pushed and said there no lounge, only 5-7 happy hour. They then said you can go to coffee bar lounge. This is actually pretty cool. I'll use this a lot.

Gym is pathetic. Heaviest dumbbells are 14 kgs.

The location is kind of gritty but I kind of like that. I haven't walked at night but walked all around long street and walked to v&a waterfront. Daytime totally fine.

Everyone tells me to worry about night.

Another odd thing. I wanted a massage and saw a sign at one across the street at a rug store. I thought they were going to cheat me but I got a pretty darn good oil massage on a private room for 300 rand. I'll go again.

I'm in a suite which is reasonably large but feels kind of old.

I'm glad I used 6500 points and not the $2000 USD they were asking for when I booked (prices came down dramatically to $350-500 this week).

Yes, there is sparkling wine
