Austrian, Swiss and Brussels cleaned up their legacy contracts before becoming part of the LHG. Swiss pilots tried to get more perks and failed after LX set up Swiss Global. The misery LH mainline is in stems from the agreements/concessions they made to the staff when they were privatized in the 1990s. Weber and Mayerhofer somehow appeased the unions when they went thru the 2001, 2003 & 2008 crisis. Franz and Spohr preferred to take them head on with mixed success.
