iOS app access issue, Chapter Next
today’s update, having waited 27 hours since my last conversation with CS
I still get the “Access from this device is temporarily blocked due to too many failed login attempts” message when trying to log into the iOS app
interestingly, I could log into the website on both iPhone and laptop before and after resetting my password from the temp one that CS gave me yesterday
CS rep apologetically said it’s a known app issue, and it’s been the subject of several hundred reports in the last ~24 hours … her only suggestion was to switch between wifi and cell data, since it appears to randomly allow users to attempt only one type of connectivity from a given device in a 24-hour period (if it works, great; if not, wait 24 hours and try the other)
~1995 one of my Boeing Flight Test colleagues was rather frustrated by what came across to him as a very cavalier attitude from one of our team members at another company location … “What do you mean by ‘Oh, we’ll just do business as usual’ when you’re not getting information and hardware from your usual suppliers and you’re not delivering a product with its documentation to your usual customers? There’s no such thing as ‘Business as usual’ on this program; we’re all just going to muddle through in spite of ourselves with brute force and awkwardness!”
I recounted this to the CS rep; she was very quiet for a few seconds and then asked, with a noticeable “not sure whether to laugh or cry” tone in her voice, “Can I please steal this? I really need to use this on the daily!”
with some award travel and a fair amount of AA paid F, I’ll make Gold by June and Plat by Oct, but I’ve already started the move to free agency by booking our spring TATL in J on AC/LH (including upstairs on both a 744 and a 748) for credit to UA
