And there we have the whole thread in a nutshell...99.9% of travelers and Bonvoy members will not even be expecting a promo and most will look at it as a gift that they weren't expecting when they get the Bonus Points or extra Stays/Nights. Meanwhile 99.9% of FT members will dissect and cross-examine it, comparing it to all other promos that have come in the past and find some way to crap-can Marriott as to how they are egregiously offended by the promo and how it doesn't suit them personally.
