They won't book you on a codeshare but on another QR flight of your choosing. You will need to find your own way to another city if you choose that option.
On a recent J BA award from CDG to HKG, the CDG-DOH flight was cancelled. They rebooked me on SN CDG-BRU and CX nonstop BRU-HKG.
This was done by the QR IRROPS team without me asking. Maybe it helped that I am BA OWE.
