The bassinet seats are held for bassinet duty until t-72 (or something like that), hence the "opening up". Service is front-to-back, and with J trending to be full, it takes a long time. I've had them forget me for dessert in row 8, and in 10L I've skipped dessert, because, at three hours after departure, I wanted to sleep rather than wait any longer. So I'd stick with 1A.
The 10s are right behind the lavatory. The advantage is that you can duck in and out quickly. The downside in my experience isn't the noise or traffic, but that the ventilation system is such that I'd occasionally catch a fleeting whiff.
