I am very familiar with AMS, but have a new situation for which I could use advice, I am flying US-AMS-SZG with a 20 hour layover in AMS (arrive late am, leave early am the following day). If it makes any difference, I’m in J class (TATL) and all flights are KL coded. (The flight to SZG will be on Transavia, which will be my first.)
I need to check a bag. While I understand that the bag can be checked through to SZG, given this scenario, how likely is it that the bag will arrive in SZG when I do? Am a bit concerned as it’s going from KL to Transavia, it’s a long overnight connection, and I would prefer not to deal with a delayed bag. For anyone who has experienced this type of connection, should I have any cause for concern? Is it better to check the bag to AMS then recheck it the next day to SZG? (I plan on contacting KL to see if they allow this.)
Thanks in advance
