The lounge situation currently is frustrating - the Expresslounge is quite nice, especially with the terrace, however does not have access to a kitchen, so only cold plates and very limited sandwiches are on offer.

The Club lounge on the other hand is very well catered (besides being generally a very calm place) but suffers from being pre-security especially since the Privium-specific priority lane was removed. These days due to staff mixing prio and non-prio lanes, and occasionally extreme rates of secondary control, even priority security can take anywhere between 3 and 30 minutes, depending on how unlucky you are (last time I flew out of Schiphol, I almost missed my flight because of this, despite leaving Club lounge for security with time reserve to stop by a duty free shop before priority boarding).

I believe you missed the announcement then, they did communicate the above in an email last year.

For the rest I agree with you. My favorite is the Departures Club Lounge, but with security being so unpredictable, I often can't fully relax and make my way to the gate early. A lot of people who reserve free time slots are being funneled into the prio lanes which doesn't help, but the amount of secondary screening is ridiculous sometimes. The other day I spent 25 minutes going through security on a late evening departure... nothing priority about that.

Let's hope the new lounge will have warm catering, although I'd assume that it will be an upgrade compared to the current Express Lounge offering. Which is also why I'm wondering whether the latter will be closed once the new one has officially opened. In any case, the Centurion Lounge is what I'm most eagerly waiting for as an alternative to Privium non-Schengen.
