Unfortunately it will likely be a number of years before the benefits of that will be realized. And with more costs attached to it. I hear they're planning to complete the work on the Global terminal around 2032-34ish, but I think it will probably be pushed to beyond 2035.

The global entry at ORD is pretty nice, but it really sucks how the time saved is offset by the insane amount of time waiting for bags at the baggage claim.

I think ride hailing services were at T5 till about 2023, when they consolidated it all at T2, with the next nearby option being the Multi-Modal facility (the rental car pick up/return spot). But neither are pleasurable to get to with loads of luggage in the ATS (assuming it's not broken down like it was a few years back). And the prices of ride shares and taxis are often extortionate, especially for the suburbs.

I hope better transport links are on top of the agenda with the new improvements at O'Hare. The current status quo that involves a CTA with a poor safety record, an extremely infrequent and often inaccessible Metra service, and near nonexistent bus connections is unacceptable for a hub like Chicago. In fairness, there are parts of this that are out of their control, given the current regime in Washington DC. But it's essential, nonetheless.
