So I was finally able to book my trip to Bali in May. I played with various dates and eventually booked an award ticket DEN-SFO-DEN (22K miles + $11) and premium economy SFO-SIN-DPS-SIN-SFO. I got a decent fare at $2800. My goal was to upgrade to Polaris on the SFO-SIN-SFO portion. No upgrade available on the outbound flight and $4800 for the return SIN-SFO portion. I opted to waitlist for 30K miles + $450 miles for both the outbound and return legs (total of 60K and $900). Let's see if that works out for me or not.
