As to the first part, I find no need to worry about that since it shows up in the balance. With things done later in December, though, it's good to keep track of returns since they can take a while to be reflected, With all other months, though, the statement balance rules. I guess, theoretically, one could pass a $5K boundary in one statement period and get 2 nights then make a return that put them on the other side of the boundary. I can't see the nights being removed but, of course, the next goal post is further away. Never had this happen, so can't be sure.

As to Chase Offers, I've also not experienced that much as there are not many Chase Hyatt Visa offers that we use. I'd think that, if it comes off the bottom line, it could impact the progress toward counter. But definitely not sure on this.
