I recently stayed here and as an AMB was told I needed to pay for breakfast (after choosing it as the welcome gift choice). I was told to have breakfast while they "checked more" and then no one came back to confirm or deny if I needed to pay, so I eventually finished breakfast and left. I agree the lobby and front desk are a bit of a mess. To be fair they upgraded me to a suite which was very large so do not have any complaints about room size.
