One thing you learn working in the sector is that however long you think something may take, double it and plan for the worse. Nothing is ever straight forward. Other countries and regulatory bodies have moved faster to certify various aircraft types to enable Starlink. I’m more surprised that the other IAG carriers haven’t got any done yet as EASA have a number of types certified.

As I understand it the install process could be done by a number of specialist companies who already have experience or airlines could look to do it in-house where the capacity exists but this would require upskilling existing staff. In-house not always the best, from what I’ve heard there is one carrier doing this and its slower than those using outsourcing. The Starlink equipment is also a different size that what carriers may currently have so you need to factor in any additional work that may bring. There are also contractual obligations relating to existing WiFi providers, and that can only start once you’ve formally announced and notified those providers.
I think you missed my point.

When Emirates announced, they had it installed, on a plane, at an airshow. The roll-out began. While degrees may vary, I doubt any of what you describe is unique to BA.

Keep quiet, do the necessary work, announce when you have certainty.
