Unfortunately, it's not that simple. After the close on 8/13 you had passed a $5K boundary, hence the 2 night credits. But, unless you just happened to be exactly at $5K, you had some overage beyond that was going toward the
next $5K. This doesn't really matter until December where one might want to hit (or not hit( at $5K boundary with spend between December statement close and end of December to either earn 2 more nights in the current year or
defer the 2 nights until the next year. At that point it's instructive to know just where one is.
