Change at Air India is needed for sure. But I don't know if changing the CEO is going to make much of a difference.

All of the reasons or excuses attributed to Airbus / Boeing / engine wallah / seat wallah / whatever wallah apart, a LOT could and should have been transformed by now within AI itself.

But, after all these years free of government control, - at least in my experience - a lot that should have improved significantly by now has not. Some longstanding AI penchants have remained unchanged and some aspects have become worse. For me, the customer service is far worse than it ever was even at the lowest of babu managed days - and that's something unrelated to anything external of AI.

I just realised yesterday the last AI flight I took was in March 2025. Forget other airlines, even the Bharat Sarkar AI has in the past called to ask why a multi-year top-tier customer has suddenly not flown a single flight for a year. This "new and improved" AI evidently is even more unconcerned with pesky irritants such a paying customers than its predecessor.

Not that I need or want AI to do anything - just pointing out that there's a LONG LONG LONG LONG way to go still, even after so many years. And that a lot of people have run out of patience. Not sure if a new CEO will be able to remedy that.
