I mean ideally they’d put you at another Bora Bora hotel for your points…but I’m guessing they’ll tell you to stay at the Tahiti or Moorea Hiltons, ideally at the lower point rate, but still a total disappointment given that isn’t what you were looking for! If they cancelled 6-months ago maybe, but 2-months out when people clearly have bookings is pretty bad.
Recently had a similar situation with an IHG hotel in Barbados which opened late. To there credit they refunded my free night award and paid for a similar level hotel…but I don’t see that happening here.
