This is a slightly peculiar message since the last couple of reviews, including my very recent one, have refuted claims that food and beverage have been scaled back substantially. In fact, I'd argue to the contrary. Without the lounge pass it is not the same proposition as a hotel in terms of value, but suggestions that the lounge is somehow a worse proposition is simply not the case. It is different but certainly the drink provision is stronger than ever.
I’ve been a frequent guest at this property since it opened, and I’ve also stayed again after the lounge “devaluations.” I fully stand by my earlier post and assessment. Especially now.
What makes it even harder to justify is the pricing: they’ve raised base rates/points by roughly 30-40%, at the same time the VND has weakened about 15% against the EUR over the past year. Service is still excellent, but the overall value proposition has clearly moved in the wrong direction. It’ll be interesting to see whether they can actually sustain those rates.
