Sadly, this is the way our legal system and society works. Almost unlimited appeals if you don't get the outcome you desire, which takes up precious court resources and costs society millions of dollars every year. Unfortunately, AC has never been a business that is willing to admit any wrongdoing even when it's clear to the most casual observer that they have violated the law or the regulations that govern them. If they were, there wouldn't be a 3 yr backlog of compensation claims against them.
Yeah... the whole compensation thing is another subject I jump off the wagon. Not a fan of mutualizing costs of the sort or systems like EC/EU261 whatever you call it. Delays cost airlines a lot more than they cost passengers, so they are quite motivated to minimize them and I’m not going to fall into the trap of thinking that the evil airline hates its customers. I'll get trip disruption insurance (self-insured or through a policy...but my choice) and work things out myself, thank you. Just trying to manage all these claims before even paying out is costing everyone else money. Poop happens, be prepared for as much as you can.

Just like all the backlash against changes to FF policies, I have other priorities to deal with than get angry over imagined benefits owed to me because of my "loyalty". Oh no... Someone of a lower status boarded before me...this is outrageous.

I'll channel my inner Bruce Lee and be like water. Getting angry is so very tiring and a waste of resources.
