Well technically we do, they're called Consumer Protection Laws and Regulations, which apparently based on losing several lower court decisions AC flew in the face of and chose to ignore.

Sadly, this is the way our legal system and society works. Almost unlimited appeals if you don't get the outcome you desire, which takes up precious court resources and costs society millions of dollars every year. Unfortunately, AC has never been a business that is willing to admit any wrongdoing even when it's clear to the most casual observer that they have violated the law or the regulations that govern them. If they were, there wouldn't be a 3 yr backlog of compensation claims against them.
